The Office of the Dean of Students offers a range of initiatives so that students have well-rounded academic and social experiences while at Oberlin.
These initiatives support the office’s chief mission: to foster a sense of community in which students build lasting relationships based on the principles of ethical conduct; an understanding of diversity in all of its complexity; respect for self and others; the lived values of social justice and equity; and a commitment to promoting positive change in the world.
Initiatives include programs that encourage students to engage with neighborhoods in local and regional communities through social activities, volunteerism, community service, internship opportunities, and more.
