Emergency Alert System
Oberlin College and Conservatory’s emergency response plan includes ObieAlert, an emergency notification system and mobile safety app that provide timely emergency information to Oberlin students and employees.
ObieAlert notifications are activated only for emergency messages and timely warnings. Notifications are issued when a critical incident is imminent or underway as soon as sufficient detail is available to provide constructive information to protect and inform members of the campus community. Instances in which the system could be used include tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service or police or fire responses that require notice to shelter in place or evacuate quickly.
All oberlin.edu email addresses for students, faculty, and staff automatically receive ObieAlert notifications. Additionally, students and employees may enter personal cell phone or landline numbers into the system by updating their contact preferences in the My Self Service Profile, accessible via Oberview.
