Jumpstart Research in Your First Year
Starting from your first semester, explore research pathways by enrolling in URI courses, meeting with a Research Ambassador for personalized guidance, or attending events like the Lab Crawl to experience the diverse research happening across campus.
Explore Your Major with URI Courses
With over 240 Undergraduate Research Intensive (URI) courses across 40 departments, students immerse themselves in research directly within their field of study. URI courses offer hands-on experiences guided by faculty and provide students the chance to contribute to the advancement of knowledge within their discipline.
Research During Winter Term
Each Winter Term, students may select a research-intensive project to dive into research full-time, dedicating hours a day to a project of their choice—either independently or alongside faculty mentors. Dedicating their time to these research projects during Winter Term allows students to deepen their research skills without the demands of semester coursework.
