Undergraduate Research

At Oberlin, research is hands-on from day one. Beginning in the classroom in courses like 'Language, Disability, and Sensory Ecologies', students practice core research skills that provide a critical foundation  upon which they begin to define the questions that shape their research journey. Housed within the Center for Engaged Liberal Arts, Oberlin Undergraduate Research helps guide students in pursuing these research experiences and carving unique paths in research that are tailored to their interests.

Research During Winter Term

Each Winter Term, students may select a research-intensive project  to dive into research full-time, dedicating hours a day to a project of their choice—either independently or alongside faculty mentors.  Dedicating their time to these research projects during Winter Term allows students to deepen their research skills without the demands of semester coursework.
