Unity Celebration

Unity Celebration is a ceremony to celebrate graduates who are Black, Indigenous, & People of Color (BIPOC). This celebration strives to provide a sense of community by bringing our diverse student body together to honor their successes and to recognize this step in their life journey.

All graduating students who are BIPOC are invited to participate. All participants are recognized for their accomplishments, given a stole/cord, and are able to name a Significant Supporter who will be honored within the program.

A Significant Supporter is someone who has been influential during a student's journey through education; this can be a mentor, family member, friend, or someone else who has helped them on their journey.

There is no cost to participate in this ceremony. If you are a senior graduating in Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 and would like to participate in this year's ceremony, please reach out to us at MRC@oberlin.edu. The deadline to sign up to participate in this year's ceremony was Friday, May 10th.

Any & all members of the campus community, as well as friends & family of the graduates, are invited to attend Unity Celebration.
