Biography

Kyle Williams serves as the Assistant Vice President and Dean of Intercultural Engagement. In this role, they are responsible for fostering a strong sense of community by applying anti-racist, anti-bias and culturally responsive pedagogies, along with trauma-informed practices to create a strong sense of mattering within the community. They have been a dedicated advocate for the communities he serves, embedding justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion into the core of decision making processes.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Williams graduated from Walnut Hills High School before leaving to earn their Bachelor of Arts in music from Otterbein University, a Master of Science in educational leadership from Old Dominion University, and a Doctorate in education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. His doctoral research focused on the influence of mattering on Black males persistence at a regional predominately white institution. 

Outside of work, they are an active and lifetime member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., avid Peloton cyclist and runner and furry father to Gladiator Huck Harrison.
