Oberlin participates in the Chapter 33/Yellow Ribbon Program in addition to other VA educational benefits. Eligible veterans and/or their dependents who will receive the Post 9/11 GI Bill® annual tuition and mandatory fee allowance, as determined by the VA, which is can be a maximum of $28,937 for the 2024-25 academic year. In addition, the VA and Oberlin share the cost of the remaining tuition and mandatory fees through the Yellow Ribbon Program for eligible service members/family members. If a service member is not eligible for 100% of Chapter 33, we will determine the eligible amount based on information provided on the certificate of eligibility provided by the VA.
This funding will replace any merit-based scholarships a student was offered until the benefits have been exhausted. Need based federal financial aid as well as institutional aid will be awarded based on financial need.
