Final Exams at the ATC
The Accommodated Testing Center follows the college policies established by the AARC and the Office of the Registrar. Please see AARC's website for more information.
The ATC is NOT a walk-in testing facility. Students should submit their exam requests for final exams 5 business days* before the exam date.
*Note that this differs from regular semester exams requiring 3 business days' notice.
Finals Week Exam Session Scheduling
ODA monitors final exams in sessions rather than scheduling individual exam times. Students must take their final exams on the day and during the session, which overlaps most closely with their in-class final exams. Only extenuating circumstances* are considered for alternative testing sessions. Approval from the ODA, AARC, and instructor is required for an alternative testing time and must be established in advance.
*Travel plans are not considered extenuating circumstances. Extenuating circumstances are determined case-by-case in conjunction with campus partners when needed.
1.5x Accommodations:
Morning Session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (Students must arrive to check-in at 8:45 am)
Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Students must arrive to check-in at 12:45 pm)
Evening Session: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Students must arrive to check-in at 5:45 pm)
2.0x Accommodations
Morning/Afternoon Session: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Students must arrive to check-in at 8:45 am
Afternoon/Evening Session: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Students must arrive to check-in at 3:45 pm
Students must take their final exams on the day and during the session, which overlaps the most closely with their in-class final exams:
Example: A class that meets during the semester on T/R at 9:00 am will have an in-class final on Thursday of finals week at 2 pm. A student with 1.5x accommodation scheduling their final exam with ODA would schedule their exam on Thursday during the Afternoon Session and would be expected to arrive at ODA at 12:45 pm to check in for their 1:00 exam.
Please note that the ATC follows the college policies established by the AARC and the Office of the Registrar.
Students must take their final exams on the day and during the session, which overlaps most closely with their in-class final exams.
The ODA can only approve a final exam time change for a disability-related reason (i.e., if a student has an accommodation for an exam at a specific time of day or a limit of one final exam per day).
All other changes must go through the AARC. An individual student may not arrange with their professor to take a final examination other than the scheduled day/time for that course by the registrar—not even at the time allocated to different sections of the same course—without special permission from an assistant dean for student support in the Academic Advising Resource Center. Please see AARC's website for more information.

Students must take their final exams on the day and during the session, which overlaps most closely with their in-class final exams. Students submit an exam request in their ODA Online Portal, like a regular semester exam.
The ATC is NOT a walk-in testing facility. Students should submit their exam requests for final exams 5 business days in advance of the exam date. Failure to schedule your exams may impact your ability to take your exams at the ATC.
Exam Submission:
Preparation for Final Exams is an intricate process. We expect to have 60-100 students per day testing at the ATC most days of finals week. For us to provide our students with a smooth testing process, PLEASE upload your exam files 2 business days in advance of the exam date. Please also deliver any additional materials (i.e., blue book) to ODA 2 business days in advance.
Please provide as many specifics as possible when filling out the exam instructions form. We want to ensure we are facilitating your exams to your preferences.
Exam Return:
All exams will be uploaded digitally to the instructor portal. Hard copies of exams can be picked up from the ATC during open hours– Professors must indicate this request in their exam instruction sheet. Due to volume, our final exam return policy differs from our current semester policy. Exam delivery will not be available during finals week. If you request a hard copy return, please be prepared to pick up your exams at the ATC after completion (or send a departmental representative, such as a departmental admin).
Please do not arrive at the ATC to pick up exams until you receive an email notification that your exams are ready for pickup.
To minimize distraction for other students in the Testing Center, please limit personal items and leave any unnecessary items at home. During Finals Week, the ODA will not be able to provide a secure location for unnecessary personal belongings. Backpacks, purses, or other personal devices should be left at home when possible. Any electronic devices should be silenced. You can bring your earplugs for your exams if you wish. You are allowed to bring in your own earplugs or noise reducing headphones for your exams if you wish. The Student Testing Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please leave any unnecessary items at home.
- We encourage you to dress in layers; the heating system in Wilder can be unpredictable.
- Please refrain from wearing strong-scented lotions, perfumes, deodorants, etc., that may trigger allergic reactions or create a distracting environment.
- You will need to arrive at the testing center with all the materials required for the exam, not provided by the professor, that you would ordinarily bring to class (e.g., calculator, writing instrument). The ODA Testing Center supplies are limited, and availability is not guaranteed. Arrive at the testing center 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time with the materials needed (pencils, calculator, scantron, etc.). Your time will begin at the designated exam start time. Arriving late may impact your extended time.
- You must bring identification, such as your Student ID or Driver’s License
- It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their exam is for the right course and exam/quiz number before starting the exam.
