Induction into Phi Beta Kappa occurs at a joyous Initiation Ceremony on the Saturday before Graduation each year.
Oberlin 2nd- and 3rd-year students whose GPA indicates good promise for Phi Beta Kappa election will be invited to an Informational Meeting each year in the late fall to learn more about PBK.
Since 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has championed education in the arts and sciences, fostered freedom of thought, and recognized academic excellence.
