The Oberlin Trio has been making music to widespread acclaim since its founding in 1982.
About the Oberlin Trio
An ensemble of all-Oberlin Conservatory faculty members, the group's current members are pianist Haewon Song, violinist David Bowlin, and cellist Dmitry Kouzov.
Performance highlights include concerts in Seoul, Los Angeles, Portland, and San Francisco, as well as live broadcasts on WCLV-90.3 FM in Cleveland.
The group’s most recent album features trios by Franz Joseph Haydn, released on Naxos in June 2022. The ensemble has also recorded trios by Joan Tower, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Antonín Dvořák on the Oberlin Music label.
In spring 2023, the trio released three short performance videos on YouTube.
The trio is also committed to the education of young artists. Its members regularly conduct master classes at major music schools and they serve on the faculties of leading summer festivals.

Haydn: Piano Trios Vol. 7 Named Ideastream Recording of the Week
The Oberlin Trio's June 2022 release on Naxos includes Haydn’s piano trios from his very first, written around 1765, to his 33rd, composed about 30 years later.
Oberlin Trio Welcomes Cellist Dmitry Kouzov with Virtual Recital
The program, which features trios by Haydn, Schumann, and Pulitzer Prize-winning Oberlin alumnus George Walker, marks the Oberlin Trio debut of cellist Dmitry Kouzov, who joined the conservatory string faculty in fall 2020. He will share the stage with longtime trio members David Bowlin on violin and Haewon Song on piano.
