Getting professional headshots for students

  1.  Schedule an appointment with one of CED’s Career Advisors or Peer Career Advisors to have your resume reviewed.

  2.  Upon completion of your resume review appointment, a team member will give you access to schedule your 15 minute head shot.

  3.  Wear your favorite professional (or Oberlin College & Conservatory) attire and visit A-031 at your scheduled appointment time. You can visit the Professional Clothing Closet in CED if you need professional attire!

  4. Enter the Iris Air photo booth area and use the touchscreen to enter your Oberlin email address. Then, follow the on-screeen instructions and tips to guide you through the process.

  5.  You can choose to retake one of your original photos. Then, edit them as you desire. Editing can be done immediately in the booth or later when you receive your photos via email.

  6.  You'll receive your photos via email within a few minutes. When you do, you'll be directed to your new online account where you can edit, download, and share photos directly.

  7.  When posting your new professional headshot taken by Iris Air, please remember to tag us in your photos on Instagram so we can share! Our handle is @cedoberlin

Oberlin College Student Groups may submit requests to use the Iris photo booth for special photo sessions.

Groups seeking to use a different style of background must provide both the background and support stand needed for it, as well as handling set-up. CED staff will assist with moving the standard Iris background out of the way, help with placing the group’s desired background in position, and moving the Iris background back into place once the session is over.

Reservation requests may be submitted by emailing careers@oberlin.edu and putting “Photo Booth Session Request” in the subject line.

The CED Executive Assistant will assist in scheduling the reservation on the CED room reservation calendar.

PLEASE NOTE: Faculty and Staff of Oberlin College & Conservatory may NOT use this photo to replace the official college faculty/staff profile photo used on the Oberlin College & Conservatory website.

  • $30 for an individual headshot for a faculty or staff member
  • Groups of 10 or more receive a discounted rate of $20 per person.

Where are my photos stored?

Photos are stored on AWS servers located in Virginia.

How long are they stored for?

The photos are stored for one year from the date they are taken. After 365 days, they are automatically deleted for privacy and security. Iris will notify users that their photos are about to expire so they can download them to their computer or mobile device.

Who has access to my photos?

Iris staff have access to the photos for quality assurance purposes only. Oberlin College & Conservatory, as the system administrator, also has access to the images.

If anyone other than me can access my photos, can they be used without my permission, and for what purpose?

Each user must provide active consent for Oberlin College & Conservatory to use their image for internal marketing purposes. After entering their email address, they must check a box on the booth interface to indicate this consent.

Does Iris sell or market student information, images/likenesses?

The only personal information Iris collects is the image itself and the user's email address to deliver the photos to the user. Iris does not sell or market the images or user email addresses.
