New Parking Restrictions on Local City Streets
August 24, 2023 11:15 AM
There are new overnight parking restrictions on local city streets within our campus boundaries that were recently implemented by the City of Oberlin.
Effective immediately, pursuant to the authority granted under Ordinance No. 23-35 AC CMS, it is hereby ordered that there will be no parking permitted from 2 to 6 a.m. on the following streets:
- Professor Street from Union Street to the northern City Limit
- Union Street from Professor Street to Main Street
- Forest Street from Professor Street to Cedar Street
- Elm Street from Professor Street to Cedar Street
Signage indicating the restrictions will be placed along the designated streets. Any vehicle in violation of this order may be towed or otherwise removed at the owner's expense.
A copy of this Order shall be posted on the City of Oberlin website and can be referenced at Oberlin City Parking Executive Order
The campus community is expected to follow all college and City of Oberlin parking regulations whether you are parking on city streets or in an Oberlin College parking lot.
As a reminder, the Oberlin College Office of Campus Safety does not enforce parking regulations on city streets. Campus Safety parking enforcement occurs only on college-owned property.
The Oberlin Police Department enforces parking regulations on all city streets and will be the agency monitoring and enforcing the new overnight parking regulations on the streets listed in the new city ordinance.
