Biography
Bruce Jamison comes to Oberlin from Piqua, Ohio, where he was the first director of safety and security for Edison State Community College. In five years at Edison State, Jamison managed significant technical projects, integrating communications and implementing mass notification systems. He institutionalized multidisciplinary threat assessments and modernized emergency plans, including the creation of an emergency management division.
Previously, Jamison enjoyed a distinguished 33-year career with the Piqua Police Department. He served as Piqua’s chief of police for more than a decade, during which he fostered collaborative relationships across the community. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Dayton. He is married with three adult children, as well as cherished bonus children and grandchildren.
