Yesterday afternoon I was privileged enough to witness the fourth annual "waving goodbye to the truck" day in the Admissions office. Let me tell you, it was quite the celebration. Months of processing, organizing, reading, reviewing, and (as I mentioned in my last blog) sometimes dreaming about applications culminated in our gathering in the mail room to witness the decision letters hauled off to the mail truck with much fanfare.
Members of the Admissions, Financial Aid, Communications, and Athletics offices withstood the chilly 30 degree weather to bid a fond farewell to a few thousand letters as they headed off into the great unknown. The conclusion of successfully reading and reviewing over 6,100 applications of course called for some partying, and so we all then shuffled back into the warmth of the mail room for cake and a champagne toast.
So, what does this mean for you applicants? Well, you should be hearing from us within the next few days. So, check your mailboxes!
I attempted to document the events with my cell phone, and have put together a visual timeline of the events below. Enjoy!
