Winter Term
The Bonner Center for Community-Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Research sponsors community-engaged winter-term projects with non-profits, schools, and government agencies in Lorain County and beyond.
A range of opportunities are posted in October on ObieOpps, the Career Development Center’s online, comprehensive recruiting management system. The center also can sponsor students who participate in community-engaged winter-term projects elsewhere.
Past student projects have been in areas such as education, policy, food security, sustainability, and the arts. The center has a free vehicle rental program available up to two days a week to support students working with organizations outside of Oberlin. Students in Oberlin meet with a Bonner Center staff person, complete a learning agreement, and participate in an orientation and reflection during winter term.
