The Telephone Office handles all aspects of telephone support for college offices and departments.

The Telephone Office has many underground cabling paths distributing communications between our buildings and outside the protected limits of the public right-of-away. Everyone plays a crucial role in helping us protect our underground cable.

If you are aware of a plan to dig or disturb the ground within the boundaries of Oberlin College, please contact Chet Arcaba, facilities operations business manager, by calling 440-775-6839.

Resources for campus telephone users

To activate Call Forward on your phone, send an email to telcorep@oberlin.edu.

Forward Calls

1) Press the Forward button on the phone.

2) Dial the number you want to forward to:

  • For a campus number enter: 5 digit extension
  • For a local number enter: 7 + number
  • For a long distance number enter: 7 + 1 + area code + phone number

3) Press Forward or Done.

4) Screen will read CFWD (calls forwarded).

Cancel Call Forward

1) To cancel forwarding press Check Fw or Forward.

2) Press Cancel FW or Cancel.

3) Screen will flash Call forward cancelled.
