Biography

After growing up in California and Central Virginia, I wanted my college experience to take me somewhere completely new. When I learned more about Oberlin’s practicing arts programs within its rigorous liberal arts context, its homey but culturally engaged ethos, and the peaceful beauty of its campus, I knew I had found the place for me.

At Oberlin, I didn’t have to choose between an art school where I would get intensive hands-on craft training and a university where I would be exposed to challenging theories, texts, and discussions. Instead, I could go straight from a coding class to a film shoot, or a bardic reading of the Iliad to a sight singing seminar. Oberlin allowed me the freedom to discover so much that I didn’t know I loved, and to do so in the most passionate, knowledgeable, and caring company imaginable.

I graduated from Oberlin in 2024 with majors in creative writing as well as cinema and media, along with a minor in music. I did research in the Technology in Music and Related Arts department, danced in Oberlin’s student ballet ensemble, was a dramaturg for the Theater department, learned to play the organ, volunteered with the International Rescue Committee as an English teacher, scored a student film, read screenplays for a production company, wrote a few screenplays of my own, held a seat on the Interfaith Student Council, coded a video game, and so much more. I also enjoyed many cups of Slow Train Cafe tea with my friends.

In my free time, I love to cook and I’m slowly learning Spanish as a heritage speaker (amo, lloro, canto, sueño)!

I first started working for the admissions office as a student tour guide, then continued as a senior fellow, and now as an admissions counselor. I love getting to learn students’ unique stories and sharing Oberlin’s wonderful community with them. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
