Biography

Shelby Fickel is the administrative assistant for the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the Center for Learning, Education and Research in the Sciences (CLEAR). She also supports additional programs in the Center for Engaged Liberal Arts (CELA), such as Fellowships & Awards, Study Away, and Winter Term.

Shelby earned her BFA in photography & integrated media at Ohio University in 2016. She was a Curatorial Intern at the Kennedy Museum of Art and worked in the photo darkroom and equipment cage. Shelby completed an Artist Residency at Kala Art Institute in 2016, as well as the Midnight Sun Artist Residency through Light Grey Art Lab in Iceland in 2018. She went on to work in public libraries and the non-profit sector, which led to her pursuing an MLIS with a focus in museum studies, at Kent State University, completed in 2022.
