ObieSafe

At Oberlin we flourish as a community—students, scholars, researchers, and creators, contributing to one another’s work and thriving together.

Obie Safe. Caring for our community.

Overview

Oberlin developed all of our COVID-19 policies with the health and safety of our campus top of mind. Lorain County Public Health and University Hospitals are among our chief consultants in the development of healthcare strategies along with continual analysis of transmission data on our campus and in our region. Policies are subject to change based on the evolving recommendations of public health entities and viral transmission data.

For the latest information about policies and protocols, visit the Student Health Services bulletins page.

COVID-19 vaccines with current boosters are the best strategy for protecting each person’s health, stopping the spread of variants, and preventing new ones from emerging. Oberlin College requires that all students, faculty and staff attending or working at Oberlin receive a full COVID-19 vaccine, unless an individual has an approved medical or religious exemption.

The College’s goal is to reduce health risks and facilitate a traditional in-person college experience. A high vaccination rate allows students, faculty, and staff to benefit from a low risk of infection on our campus.

Vaccination Exemption Process

Oberlin College requires that all students, faculty and staff attending or working at Oberlin receive a full COVID-19 vaccine, unless an individual has an approved medical or religious exemption.
