Oberlin-in-Paris Program

About the Program

Join Professors Ann Cooper Albright and Grace An for a wonderful introduction to one of the world’s most storied cities. We will use Paris as a base for savoring the flavors of France (literally and figuratively) and explore urban life through courses that focus on the public life of the streets and cafes as well as the extraordinary performances to be seen during the fall 2025 theater season. Students will also take a French language course at the appropriate level with native speakers. These classes offer a variety of interdisciplinary connections and fulfill credits in French, dance, food studies, and the journalism programs as well as cultural diversity.

Oberlin-in-Paris parallels the Oberlin-in-London program in that it features Oberlin faculty as part of a semester-long immersion into city life, only in French! Students in the program are registered at Oberlin, and their courses are Oberlin College courses, so there is no need to transfer credits or financial aid. Moreover, the Office of Financial Aid adjusts aid packages to take account of those living costs—mainly housing and food—which are higher in Paris.
