Take Care During High-Stress Times
October 15, 2015
Marvin Krislov
It seems like first semester just began, yet mid-term exams are upon us. Everyone seems to be eyeing the clock, calculating how much time until the next exam starts or the next paper is due, or—halleluiah—they can head home for break.
Given the time-crunch and the stress, I’ll be brief. Please remember to take care of your physical and mental health. Sleep is necessary to maintain good health, so get as much as you can. Even a quick nap can give you renewed energy and a fresh perspective on that 10-page paper. Physical exercise, even if it’s just a brisk walk around the block, is also a great stress reliever.
Know that various stress-relieving activities and resources are available through your class deans, the Dean of Student’s Office, and student health services. Remember to take breaks, even if they’re short.
I wish all our students the best of luck with their midterms, and I wish everyone safe travels and a great fall break.
