Oberlin Orchestra Premieres Hartke Concerto Dec. 12 in Finney Chapel

Performance to be conducted by Atlanta Symphony music director Robert Spano '84, feature cellist Darrett Adkins '91.

The Oberlin Orchestra will present the premiere performance of Da Pacem, a cello concerto written by Oberlin composition professor Stephen Hartke, in an 8 p.m. performance in Finney Chapel on Wednesday, December 12. The orchestra, with faculty cellist Darrett Adkins '91, will be conducted by Robert Spano '84, music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Oberlin Conservatory is proud to announce the return of the Richard Miller Classical Voice Competition for High School Students, a festival aimed at encouraging and supporting high school students in the pursuit of a career in classical vocal music. The festival is named in honor of Richard Miller, a member of the voice faculty at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music for more than 40 years.
