Emeritus Professor Bill Skinner Dies

William R. Skinner, emeritus professor of geology, died November 23, 2019. He was 89 years old.
Skinner began his career at Oberlin College in 1966, where he taught for more than 35 years. During his tenure, he served as chair of the geology department for 14 years. Skinner’s academic areas of interest included both igneous and metamorphic petrology and meteorites and the origin of the solar system.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Oberlin Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 355 East Lorain St, Oberlin.
