Oberlin’s poetry slam team placed 11th out of 60 teams at the largest college-level poetry slam in the world.

The Oberlin team bested 13 other schools to garner the first place honor.

Since 2013, a group of students has joined together on a bi-yearly basis to produce a weekend of programming under the auspices of Asia America Art (AAArt) Collective. On December 30, 2016, the Oberlin College Chess Club competed in the Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championship in New Orleans, where they won the best small college division for the fourth consecutive year.
