Biography

While attending a high school with over 3,000 students in Oak Park, Illinois, I always thought I would attend a college even larger than that. However, once I was nominated for the Posse Foundation Scholarship, I realized the benefits of attending a small liberal arts college perfectly aligned with my needs and interests. I had no idea what I wanted to major in, I liked the midwest, and I wanted small classes so I could really interact with professors and a close-knit campus where I could get to know people. I was absolutely thrilled when I received the call from the Posse Chicago office congratulating me on my acceptance!

Even while starting during the height of the COVID pandemic, I fell in love with Oberlin. I was lucky enough to have some classes in person, I was able to live in the sustainable dorm, and I met so many amazing people! I took classes in all different departments, and eventually realized I wanted to be an environmental studies major. Throughout my four years at Oberlin, I participated in theater, picked up a business integrative concentration, worked for the Office of Energy and Sustainability, and even studied abroad through Oberlin-in-London!

I loved my time at Oberlin, and I am excited to now help prospective students with their Oberlin journey! If you need any advice on food recommendations, how to dress for a midwest winter, or best study spots on campus feel free to contact me.
