Biography

Kyle Farris serves as Assistant Director for Career Readiness, overseeing the Arts, Communications and Creative Professions career community. Kyle Farris has spent his entire adult life working in higher education as a student, advisor, program specialist, and graduate researcher. As a neurodivergent individual whose disabilities were not diagnosed or supported in college, they are especially committed to issues of diversity, accessibility, and improving life for all Oberlin students.

Kyle earned their PhD in higher, adult, and lifelong education at Michigan State University, where he studied decoloniality and higher education. Prior to that, he earned a BA and MA in political science from the University of New Mexico and the University of Pennsylvania.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys creative writing, playing video games, and baking more desserts than they probably should.
