Joshua Barron and Daniela Jimenez Ochoa are awardees of the Dolores '54 and Donald '57 White Prize.
They will present a benefit concert in support of Obies for Undocumented Inclusion (OUI) at the First Church in Oberlin. The students will discuss the importance of celebrating diversity in music and connect Latin American music with African American Music. Obies for Undocumented Inclusion (OUI) will speak about their organization. This program features the music of Dolores White and works from minority composers from both in and outside of the United States. The concert will be advertised and presented in both English and Spanish.

About the White Prize
The Dolores ’54 and Donald ’57 White Prize Fund was established in 2021 to provide awards to Conservatory students who demonstrate leadership in elevating Oberlin Conservatory’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals through music performance. Prizes are awarded for performance-based projects demonstrating students’ commitment to supporting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in music and commitment to excellence in music performance.
