SUPC would like to welcome SUIQE (pronounced ‘seek’) for a live performance!

The distinguished multidisciplinary artist from New Jersey takes a passionate and deeply personal approach to making music: self writing, directing, and producing all of his works. While he is most well known for his infectious remixes of early 2000s R&B tracks and even some more contemporary favorites like SZA’s “2 AM”, his original releases are reminiscent of the innovative mixtape era of the early 2000s when artists like Max B were transforming Hip-Hop/R&B culture through hard-hitting, unashamedly real, and meditative and self-reflective lyrics.

As an artist, SUIQE’s approach wholeheartedly captures the essence of his being and the intention with which he creates sound. Drawing inspiration from his family, the places he grew up in, his friends, and the artists of his adolescence like Nujabes and J Dilla.

Each of his seven projects that he’s released contain creative assists and features from friends like DORIS, Salimata, Xanbeendead, SMV, Big Zota, Papo2oo4, etc— all deeply involved in the current underground hip-hop and more experimental/alternative rap scene. In 2020, he and Niontay released a project entitled “Blood Diamond” together (Niontay’s first ever extended play release.)

In the past, he would give followers a more intimate glimpse into his environment, relationships, and creative process with his vlog series, “Rent Is Due”, uploaded to YouTube on the 1st of every month. This time around on 10/1/24, come by to show SUIQE some love @ The ‘Sco!
