Food systems have been colonized from Africa to the Americas, and it is critical to find ways to decolonize them. Looking beyond Western perspectives, this talk, led by Dr. Passmore Chishaka, Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies, will examine African indigenous farmers’ leveraging of cultural and social resources to respond to climate change and postcolonial land restitution programs as methods to promote racial and environmental justice. This event is open to the public.
