Oberlin College and Conservatory faculty and students have been teaching in and learning from the Oberlin Schools for at least the last two decades through a variety of programs.

The Spanish in the Elementary Schools (SITES) Program, run by Kim Faber from Hispanic Studies turns an even twenty this year; Writers in the Schools Programs (WITS), run by Elizabeth Lindsey Rogers, has been around, in one form of another, for more than 15 years; and Philosophy in the Elementary School (PHITS), run by Katherine Thomson-Jones from Philosophy turns 8. As part of these programs, Faber, Rogers, and Thomson-Jones do not only teach our students to teach, but also actively think about teaching both future teachers and younger audiences. In this lunchtime session, Faber, Rogers, and Thomson-Jones will share stories and insights gleaned from this ongoing collaboration and experiment in community pedagogies.

RSVP for lunch by Nov. 22 - email Polly Bratton, administrative assistant of the Gertrudge B. Lemle Center for Teaching and Scholarship, at pbratton@oberlin.edu.
