Oberlin Conservatory composition faculty member Michael Frazier presents a composition recital: el jardín del colibrí (The Hummingbird’s Garden). Reflecting the title of one of the works, the resplendent and vibrant Ecuadorian Hillstar (colibrí del Chimborazo), with all of its colors and elegance, sets the stage for a program of introspection and openness across a variety of Frazier’s compositions, including a world premiere. Featuring the musicality of Oberlin students, faculty members, as well as Oberlin’s clarinet studio, Frazier invites you to his personal garden for an afternoon of colorful musical spaces.
