A guest recital presented by David Hurd '71 in Finney Chapel (In-Person Only).
This concert is part of a series of annual events honoring David Boe's years of service to Oberlin College & Conservatory and is made possible by the generosity of the Boe Family and Oberlin alumni and friends. David was a beloved professor of organ (1962-2008) and the ninth dean of the Conservatory.
David Hurd is widely recognized as one of the foremost church musicians and concert organists in the United States, with a long list of honors and achievements, and immeasurable expertise in organ performance, improvisation, and composition. He is a recipient of the 2010 American Guild of Organists’ Distinguished Composer award and serves as Organist and Choirmaster of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in New York City. As a concert organist, Hurd enjoys instant recognition for his featured performances throughout North America and Europe and at conventions of the American Guild of Organists.
