May, 2018 Update

Last chance to access DotCMS!

May 23, 2018

On May 31, the webteam will shut off access to the DotCMS server, retiring the system permanently. We have migrated or archived everything we could identify as potentially useful information, leaving behind files which are clearly outdated or incomplete that have accumulated in the system over 10 years. However, if you have any pages or files tucked away in a corner of DotCMS that we might have missed, you must retrieve them before May 31. We will not be preserving a complete archive of the server. If you need assistance, please contact us.

In other news, we have just received the results of a website accessibility audit. The aim of web accessibility is to ensure that our site can be used by everyone, regardless of any disability a site visitor may have. We are now reviewing the report, and over the next several months we will remediate any deficiencies while establishing policies and training for site editors to ensure that our website remains accessible going forward.

Finally, I want to thank all faculty and staff who have gone to the trouble to have a new photo taken for the website. More than 80 percent of faculty and 70 percent of staff bios on the new website have a photo—a higher percentage than on the old site, with better and newer photos. Your efforts have helped us to make the website better reflect the high quality of the work you do. Let’s see if we can reach 90% by the start of fall semester!

As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions.
