Successful 203 Servers Infrastructure Upgrade this weekend

Center for Information Technology

This weekend, CIT successfully completed the virtualization infrastructure upgrade of 203 servers from an older, outdated tech system to a robust infrastructure VxRails without any downtime.

This major upgrade enhances the infrastructure that hosts our on-premises ERP Banner, which is crucial for the college's core operations and buys us valuable time as we plan the long-term transition to a cloud ERP.

Why This Matters to You:

Improved Performance and Reliability:

Our new system ensures smoother, more dependable operations for our community to minimize the number of downtimes.

Enhanced Security:

Better protection for data and our network.

Futureproofing:

Keeping our IT infrastructure current and ready for future needs as we rethink the future of our ERP and other systems

Strategic Impact:

This upgrade supports CIT's strategic goal: “Modernizing our IT infrastructure” enhancing institutional resilience and investing in long-term systems with current and future needs in mind.

If you experience abnormal Banner speed or need other IT Services or Support, feel free to submit a ticket on the Services Portal and someone from CIT will contact you.
