Biography
Carmen Ramirez McFarlin grew up mostly in Austin, Texas, but also a little bit in Southern Minnesota, giving her a broad appreciation for extreme weather (she prefers the heat).
Carmen moved to Oberlin from Austin in 2015, with her husband and their three daughters. Her lived experience has provided her with a strong background in education, advocacy, and communications, all of which serve her well in her position with the Office for Disability and Access.
When she’s not complaining about the cold, Carmen can be found eating tacos, making travel plans, wandering around town taking photos, and calling people “y’all.”
