ObieSafe: November Testing Details

November 2, 2020 11:15 AM

Emily Speerbrecher, COVID-19 Project Coordinator

Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, test results from tests taken on November 23, 2020 will not be delivered until Friday, November 27, at the earliest.

If you are in need of results prior to November 27, you may wish to reschedule your test for earlier in the month as availability allows or consider taking an additional test through an outside source. All students, faculty, and staff still MUST be tested with Oberlin in the month of November.

How do I reschedule my November test?

Click the reschedule button in the confirmation email you received when you scheduled your test.

Where can I get an additional test?

Lorain County Health & Dentistry performs PCR testing on asymptomatic individuals from any county daily. Individuals should call (440) 240-1655 and ask for a COVID-19 test. The LCH&D Call Center will schedule you for a telehealth visit with one of their providers. At the same time, you will be given an appointment for their drive-up test service. Telehealth visits are usually covered by the patient’s insurance. Co-pays may apply. If patient’s insurance does not cover the test, it may be covered by a COVID-19 relief fund managed through LCH&D. If an individual does not have insurance, they can pay out of pocket and can review that cost with the LCH&D Enrollment & Financial Specialist, between $20-70 depending upon financial circumstances.

Local urgent cares and pharmacies may offer PCR and/or rapid antigen testing. Please call the pharmacy of your choosing for details on cost and availability.

If you have any questions, please contact covid.testing@oberlin.edu.
