Office of Communications
Please welcome the new custodial contractor, Scioto Services, to Oberlin College. Scioto will be working in conjunction with the Facilities Operations, Procurement, and Auxiliary Services office to keep our campus clean and sanitized.
Given the pandemic, the company is employing a cleaning and sanitizing strategy that will require some adjustments on the part of our faculty and staff.
In an effort to limit the amount of contact in personal spaces, trash will only be collected from hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces, such as kitchens. If you have trash in your lab or office, please tie the bag and place it in a common space trash can or leave it outside of your door.
If there is something that needs to be addressed in your area related to cleaning, such as more trash bags or vacuuming, please put in a work order in School Dude, and it will be passed on to Scioto through FACOPS. As always, if there is an emergency, please call the FACOPS office during regular business hours, (440) 775-8445.
High touch surfaces in common spaces will be cleaned multiple times per day with additional deep cleaning overnight.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work towards a new chapter of serving the Oberlin College community.
