Watching Harry Potter on the plane home yesterday did not fulfill my wish to land in a place where everyone still had British accents.

Of course there is plenty of learning with a purpose happening at Oberlin and the recent Senior Symposium serves as testament.

The end of the academic year always brings a sense of loss, a kind of annual attack of empty-nest anxiety. We think about the graduating seniors and heave a sigh. "What are we going to do?" we ask each other. "We'll never get a bunch of kids as good as these ones..."

Are there support groups for people who can't stop tumbling? I need one.

Our intern lunches became a regular occurrence - we would swap stories about the craziest things that had happened to us that day (so many crazy things, all the time), gossip about whatever was going on on the Hill, and, on one special occasion, Jordan nearly ran into and almost knocked over Dennis Kucinich in the cafeteria in the Rayburn Building.

Work is play is fun is work is life: in which I worked a ton as a student and tell you all about the fun I had while getting paid!

Friday was improv and Japanese chess. Saturday was an improv workshop. Sunday was an improvised steampunk dinner party. Yes, there are pictures.

Brandi recently posted an inquiry on her facebook status: "Oberfriends: If you had less than 60 seconds to express how awesome Oberlin is to someone who knows next to nothing about this place, what/how would you do it?" I visited her earlier that day, and she asked me the same question.
