Clear filtersPoetry, Lake Michigan, Blue Man Group, and overly mediocre Thai food
February 21, 2009
Forget that there was no hot water in my bathroom and that the hotel gym cost an extra $18 a day to work out at; I was delighted with our 13th floor window overlooking Lake Michigan, and the opportunity to spend some time with Linda, whom I adore.
Making Modern Art at the Museum of Modern Art

The sun is out for the second day in a row, the thermometer out back says 0 degrees, and it's so dry that five miles to the west I can see the snow-frozen Rockies as clear as if they were a Bob Ross...
Work it for Women!
December 10, 2008

It is all... an illusion
November 28, 2008
The real difference between seeing the dress and the show, though, is the audience. I've been in performance audiences lovingly called the "little audience that could," the small audiences that make up for lacking size with more emotion, appreciation, and gusto than a full house.
Jazz Combos Thrive at Oberlin
November 23, 2008
All jazz combos at Oberlin are student-formed, and the repertoire is student-selected, and I think this is critical for a number of reasons.
