Naci Konar-Steenberg ’26

Hi! I’m Naci Konar-Steenberg, and I hail from the snowy tundra of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m currently considering all sorts of majors, but my interests include computer science, creative writing, politics and philosophy, music, psychology, and foreign languages.

On campus, I’m a member of the Obertones, Oberlin’s men’s and non-binary a cappella group. I’m also involved with several choirs here at Oberlin, and I’m learning to play the saxophone. I also play chess, and I’m trying to improve my skills. (I’m not that good, but I like to think that I can be tricky to play against.) You can find me either on North Quad, in Noah Hall (where I reside on the second floor), or somewhere around town: be that the Blue Rooster, the Conservatory, or running around the Pyle Road Nature Preserve.

I’m someone who tries to get involved in as many different activities as possible, and I imagine this will rub off in my blog posts. A few years ago, I ran a marathon; I’m currently trying to write a screenplay, and in the future I want to try to record an album of original music. I’m always open to trying new things, and I hope my blog posts reflect what it’s like to do that while living at Oberlin!

Escape Room, One Night Only

February 27, 2024

I realized I needed to work with what I had. And what I had was a carrot cake from the Blue Rooster with “Happy Birthday, Naci!” written on it.
