Howdy! My name’s Jonah Texas Knittel. I’m a Scorpio sun, my favorite color’s red, and I’m a first-year here at the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m from the Antelope Valley, California (about an hour north of Los Angeles), where the Joshua trees are spikey and grow sideways from the wind. I came to Ohio to get out of the desert heat, but I didn’t expect it to be so drastic.
Here at Oberlin, while undeclared, I’m honing my writing abilities in every way I can. You’ll often find me in some dark corner of Mudd typing away, or the King courtyard watching the chipmunks play. I don’t have any fancy titles or organizations to promote as of yet, but I’m sure they’ll accumulate as the year goes on. I’ll be sure to blog about them as they arise!
I hope to use this blog to talk about my first-year experiences far from home, as well as any tips or tricks I gather along the way. If you ever see me around, stop and say hi! I won’t bite. I promise.
