We are excited to formally welcome you to the Oberlin family! This is a Zoom webinar open to all admitted students and their families.

Navigating and Thriving as a FGLI Student at Oberlin

Learn the tips and tricks of thriving as a first generation and/or low-income college student at Oberlin. We will have representatives from Center for Student Success, Bonner Center of Community-Engaged Learning, Academic Advising Resources and Career Exploration and Development offices to talk about support systems on campus. This short presentation will be followed by a Q&A panel with the support offices and current students who serve as peer mentors to first-generation college students.

Student-Faculty Mentorship Panel

Join us for a panel with students and faculty from various disciplines to learn more about teaching and learning, faculty-student mentorship, and the Oberlin academic experience.

Student Life Panel

Ask students anything! This panel is a chance for admitted students to ask their burning questions and get honest answers from current Obies.

The Many Voices of Oberlin Panel

This is your opportunity to ask current students from under-represented backgrounds about their experiences around finding community, support, and belonging at Oberlin. You will get honest and candid answers to your questions about what diversity and inclusion look like on our campus. This panel will also highlight academic programs, housing, and student groups that support under-represented students at Oberlin. We hope to see you there!

Music Opportunities for Arts & Sciences Students

Join us to learn more about the rich musical opportunities available to students enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences. Our panel will discuss lessons for college students, ensembles, facilities, conservatory classes, pursuing a major or minor in music, and more!

Parent Webinar

Parents may have many questions of their own about life and academics at Oberlin. No question is too basic or silly. Ask our panelists anything!

Housing & Dining

Oberlin is a residential college and we believe that living and eating together fosters a strong community. During this webinar, Oberlin Residential Education staff and current students answer your questions about housing and dining at Oberlin.

Location, Location, Location!

Oberlin, Ohio was named one of Ohio’s Best Hometowns by Ohio Magazine because of its historical architecture, quaint shopping and galleries, and robust entertainment offerings. This panel will feature a group of residents — from students to city council members to downtown business owners — who will discuss the many wonderful crossroads between town and gown and answer all of your questions about your new community.

Alumni Panel

Join us for an insightful and inspiring alumni panel featuring recent Oberlin graduates who have gone on to make their mark in various fields. This event provides a unique opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of how an Oberlin education has shaped their careers, passions, and life paths. Our panelists will share their journeys, discuss the challenges and triumphs they’ve encountered along the way, and offer valuable advice to prospective students. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A with the panelist and the Career Exploration and Development Center.

Connect with Current Students

When you ask an Obie what they love about Oberlin, the first thing they’ll probably say is “the people!” With a student body that has a wide range of interests and backgrounds, Oberlin creates a unique community of students from all over the world.
