Oberlin votes for changes to charter
In addition to voting overwhelmingly for Senator John Kerry in last week’s presidential election, Oberlin voters passed four amendments to the Oberlin charter, according to Oberlin politics professor and Oberlin City Councilor Eve Sandberg, that are designed to sustain the city’s basic operations, modernize its basic operating rules and provide for “greater openness.”
Oberlin profs soothe students
A panel of speakers convened last night to bring a little hope back to Oberlin politics and share their opinions about the 2004 presidential election and its aftermath.

Cross-country prepares to run at NCAA Regionals
On Nov. 13, the top seven women and men on Oberlin’s cross-country teams will compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Regional Championships. The Saturday meet will take place at Alma College in Alma, Mich. at 11 a.m.
Football loses to Bishops 24-14 in home finale
Dill Field saw the Oberlin Yeomen for the last time this season and said goodbye to the senior class of 2005. Fourteen seniors played in front of a home crowd one last time on Saturday. Unfortunately, their last home competition ended in a loss.

Ghost stories told in Little Theater
It is a shame that smoking is not permitted in the Little Theate...the thick cloud wafting through the air was the only thing lacking in the otherwise perfect Irish pub created in the small black box theatre for Conor McPherson’s The Weir. Hardwood floors, shelves lined with bottles, old pictures on the walls and a stained glass window gave the room the unmistakable feel of a familiar bar full of good friends. I found myself just begging for a Guinness and a smoke.
CME puts out top notch performance
Last Friday night’s Contemporary Music Ensemble concert was remarkably well-attended, and the audience wasn’t disappointed. Exceptional musicianship, a diverse program of great pieces and a talented student conductor contributed to a wonderful evening.
