Resources for Legal Concerns

Rape is a felony punishable by law.  Sexual Assault (as well as some other sexual contact) is a violation of Oberlin College Sexual offense policy. Due to these facts, perpetrators can be legally punished for their actions. While the decision to pursue legal prosecution depends on the victim, there are many steps necessary to be taken in the legal processes. Below is the list of local resources that can aide one through this process.

It may be important to have a RAPE KIT exam WITHIN 72 HOURS of the incident.  Lorain County Rape Crisis Services can collect evidence for victim/survivors.  There may also be local or regional hospitals who will also provide this service. Please call and ask.
