Printing, Photocopying & Scanning

Printing in the Libraries

  • printing is managed with the PaperCut system (more about Lab Printing)
  • ObieID or Sponsored Account required
  • students are alotted $40 for printing per semester on their ObieID accounts
    • additional pages can be charged to ObieDollars accounts
    • ObieDollars can be added to OCIDs at PHIL stations in all libraries
  • visitors can ask for Sponsored Accounts in all libraries
    • a Sponsored Account comes with $2 of print allotment
    • requests for additional printing capacity must be made at the CIT Help Desk (MUDD 112B) in the Main Library during regular business hours
  • refund requests are handled by the CIT

Printing - Black & White

available in all libraries
costs:

  • $0.12 per single-sided printout
  • $0.16 per double-sided printout

Printing - Color

available in the Art Library and the Multi-media area of the Academic Commons

costs:

  • $1 per single-sided printout - 8.5" x 11" ($2 for double-sided)
  • $2 per single-sided printout - 11" x 17" ($4 for double-sided)

Photocopying - Black & White

available in all libraries
OCID or guest card required

costs:

  • $0.10 per single-sided printout
  • $0.20 per double-sided printout

Photocopying - Color

available in the Art Library (hours)
OCID or a guest card required

costs:

  • $1 per single-sided copy - 8.5" x 11" ($2 for double-sided)
  • $2 per single-sided copy - 8.5" x 14" or 11" x 17" ($4 for double-sided)

Scanning

  • photocopy machines in all libraries allow users to create PDFs and either send via email or save to a USB drive
  • a ScannX flatbed is available in the Main Library and Science Library
    • users can create files in a variety of formats, save to a USB drive, send via mail, or upload to Google Docs or Dropbox
  • flatbed scanners are available in the Main, Art, and Science libraries
  • a transparent media adapter for scanning slides, negatives and transparencies is available in the Art Library
  • there is no charge for scanning
