Adding New Discipline-Specific Titles

New subscriptions in a subject area are proposed by faculty or the subject liaison librarian.

Issues to keep in mind when requesting new subscriptions:

  • relevance to curriculum and teaching mission
  • support for student and faculty research
  • potential use by members of the department and their students
  • cost and format
  • availability from other libraries


Requests for new subscriptions should be directed to the liaison librarian.

Adding New Interdisciplinary or General Interest Titles

New subscriptions to interdisciplinary or general interest titles may be requested by students, faculty or library staff.

Issues to keep in mind when requesting new subscriptions:
  • interdisciplinary nature
  • potential interest among students and general readers
    potential curricular or research use
  • cost and format
  • availability from other libraries.

 

Requests for new interdisclinary or general interest subscriptions should be directed to the Collection Development librarian.

Requests for all new subscriptions will be evaluated in light of available budget, perceived eed and potential use and overall collection balance.
