eligibility
Applying to LaunchU is open to both current Oberlin students and alumni. Both individuals as well as teams can apply. At least one member of the team must be an Oberlin student or alumna/alumnus.
application requirements
Applicants are asked to submit a 1- to 3-minute pitch video, introducing themselves and their venture; a 1- to 2-page executive summary, which may include details about the business or product, the market, competitiors, risks/opportunities, operations, management team, capital requirements, and a financial snapshot; as well as resumés for each of the team members.
Other information required as part of the application includes contact information for all team members, a title for your venture, selecting an industry category, and identifying the current phase of development of your idea.
selection process
A panel of investors and expert entrepreneurs will review the applications and select teams to participate in the LaunchU Accelerator. Those individuals or projects accepted into LaunchU will be informed by December 1, 2012.
During the accelerator process, each team will participate in a startup bootcamp, receive entrepreneurship coaching, create an investor-ready pitch deck, and compete in a final pitch competition. See the schedule for all LaunchU events.
