Oh, What a Circus! 01 May 2013
Mesmerizing acrobatics joined with the agility of OC Aerialists and the innovative Tumbling Club are just a handful of reasons why OCircus! is one of the most talked about performance-based student organizations.
The nearly 100 participants learn the ropes at circus schools around the country during winter break, bringing back such skills as stilt and tightrope walking, juggling, and unicycle riding. OCircus! member Kira Fath ’13 shows how it’s done during a Commencement weekend performance.
What started as students casually doing stunts in front of Hales Gymnasium and in Wilder Bowl, evolved into circus-themed ExCo classes and eventually a chartered organization in 2006. See the group’s spring show on May 3 and 4 in Philips gym.
