Get ready to witness the celestial event of a lifetime! On Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, leaving parts of Ohio—especially Oberlin—in the path of totality. Starting at 3:13 PM, the moon will completely cover the sun for more than three minutes. This is an incredibly rare occurrence, as the last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806; the next will be in the year 2099.

To celebrate, the entire campus community is invited to OCLIPSE, a two-hour viewing party on Bailey Field. Pick up your Oberlin eclipse viewing glasses, then enjoy special snacks, musical performances, a screenprinting project with YeoPress, and narration of the event by Oberlin’s own eclipse expert, Observatory and Planetarium Coordinator Dave Lengyel.

* Please be aware that parking in campus lots will be strictly enforced to permit holders only.  Non-permitted holders will not be allowed to park.
