The Gertrude B. Lemle Teaching Center is Oberlin’s teaching, learning and scholarship hub, helping faculty and teaching staff address the challenges and share the joys of teaching and learning in a residential liberal arts setting.
We bring faculty and staff together to share perspectives and practices, introducing methods to help teachers become more self-reflective, and connecting students and faculty so that each can benefit by seeking out one another’s perspectives.
The Lemle Teaching Center works with faculty and staff at all levels, connecting various individuals and offices engaged in direct and frequent interactions with students, helping veteran faculty to revitalize their approaches to teaching and learning, and new faculty to find a life in teaching.
The Lemle provides a safe and welcoming space for faculty and staff to address issues that impact teaching and learning for the campus community.
The Lemle was formerly known as the Center for Teaching Innovation and Excellence or CTIE.

The Lemle Center offers free and confidential consulting services for members of the Oberlin community, ranging from one-on-one brainstorming sessions, to offering Teaching Observations.
