Employers have received applications and will start to contact students for interviews and offer internship positions. Employers will have until Friday, November 15 to select students and alternates.If an employer offers you an internship, you will receive a notification email from firstname.lastname@example.org with the reply-to address email@example.com. We ask that you accept or decline an offered internship as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, November 22. Please remember that other students and employers may be waiting on your decision. If you have questions, or encounter technical difficulties making selections through ObieOpps, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be happy to help.
A Note About Phone Interviews
Although it is not required, many employers choose to conduct telephone interviews with their top candidates. Not all applicants will be contacted for a phone interview. We encourage you to attend one of our Phone Interview Workshops at the Career Center.

When you are offered an internship

The Selection Process and Alternates
The Career Center will inform all students via email if they have been selected for an internship, are an alternate, or did not receive an internship offer by Nov. 22. Alternates will then be updated periodically on their status. If a student declines an internship, the Career Center will contact the first alternate to see if s/he is interested in the internship. If the first alternate declines the internship, the second alternate will be contacted. The process will continue until an alternate accepts the internship.
After You Accept An Internship
Students who accept an internship should review the Requirements, Making It Work and Optimize sections of the Winter Term Internships website. After selections are finalized, the employer will contact you directly to arrange the final details of the internship (start date, schedule, directions and parking, appropriate attire, etc.).
If you plan to have the Career Center sponsor you for Winter Term, you are required to attend one of the internship preparation meetings listed below. Please bring your Winter Term registration form to the meeting for the required Winter Term sponsor signature. You must submit the form to the Registrar’s Office by 5pm on Friday, Dec 6 to receive Winter Term credit.

If your internship does not offer housing, and is in a location where you will not have a place to stay, we may be able to help. If you'd like to find housing options available with Oberlin alumni or parents come to the Career Center’s drop-in hours (every weekday from 3-5pm at the Career Center, Mondays and Tuesdays, 8-10pm at Azariah’s; Saturdays, 1-4pm at the Local; Sundays, 7-9pm at Azariah’s).
